Bedtime Christian Prayer for Peaceful Sleep
Some nights, when I lay down I’m so physically exhausted, but mentally and emotionally, I’m wide awake! I’m either replaying conversations from the day, thinking about things I wish I said differently, or maybe I’m feeling anxious about what’s looming tomorrow. All while still carrying the burdens that I haven’t even had time to complete or even name yet. That’s why I turn to a bedtime Christian prayer.
Not just to end the day, but to invite God’s peace into the chaos of my thoughts. In these quiet hours, as the world winds down, I believe God meets us right where we are. He’s not waiting for perfect peace before He draws near. He comes in the unrest, the uncertainty, and the weariness to carry our burdens and give us true rest, so we can wake up refreshed, renewed, and strengthened for tomorrow.

Sleep is more than just a biological need, it’s a spiritual surrender. A moment where we choose to let go and trust that God will keep watch while we rest. Keep us safe when we’re so vulnerable. This bedtime Christian prayer was created to support that sacred surrender.
A Prayerful Nighttime Routine
I even made an accompanying video that features Bible verses chosen specifically for peace, protection, comfort, and rest. The verses are played gently every 30 seconds over relaxing instrumental Christian music designed to quiet your mind.
Let this prayer and video be your nighttime routine. Not just a way to sleep but a way to rest in God.

Bedtime Christian Prayer for Peaceful Sleep
Come to God Just As You Are
Dear God in Heaven,
Here I am at the end of the day, with a tired body and a soul still in motion. I want to rest, but my thoughts are tangled and loud. I come to You just as I am. No mask, no pretending and no need to have it all together.
You know every worry that weighs me down. You see what I’m carrying even when I can’t put it into words. I release those things to You now. Every fear, every doubt, every to-do list I didn’t finish. I give You my burdens and ask You to carry them while I sleep.

Let God’s Word Calm Your Heart
Let Your Word speak louder than my worry tonight. Let these scriptures be truth that sinks in, even as I drift off. Let Your promises root deep in my spirit so that I wake up refreshed, stronger, and full of hope.
Surround this room with Your presence. Cover this space with Your peace. I ask for rest not just for my body, but for my heart. Calm my inner storm. Quiet my anxious thoughts. Help me let go of what I can’t control and remember that You are already working it out.
Thank You for being a God who never sleeps. While I rest, You remain faithful. While I close my eyes, You continue to hold the world, and me, in Your hands.
End the Day With Trust and Love
Tonight, I choose to trust You. I may not have all the answers but I know You are with me, and that is enough.
Be my peace tonight, Lord. And when morning comes, be my strength. Help me have a safe and restful sleep tonight.
Thank you Lord, God. I love you.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
