A Morning Prayer for Forgiveness of Sins

Starting the Day with a Heart Open to Grace

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to You this morning with a heart that feels heavy. I know I’ve fallen short. But I also know that Your grace is greater than my mistakes. You are the beginning and the end, the alpha and the omega and in your presence, I find peace, hope, and the chance to start again.

Confessing My Sins and Asking for Your Forgiveness

So today, I bring it all to You. Every fault, every failure, every missed opportunity to love well. Please forgive me. Forgive me for the pride that sometimes sneaks into my decisions. For the words I’ve said that I wish I could take back. And for the times I didn’t stop to ask what You wanted before acting on my own.

Forgive me for the things I didn’t do. The times I should have helped, encouraged, or shown love but didn’t. I know You see it all, and still, You invite me back. Thank You for that.

Living in the Freedom of Your Forgiveness

Jesus, when I think about what You did for me, how You carried my sin to the cross, I’m so overwhelmed. You gave everything so I could be free. Please, help me to live like someone who’s truly forgiven, not weighed down by the past but walking boldly in Your love.

Learning to Forgive Others, Just as You Forgave Me

And Lord, as You’ve forgiven me, help me to forgive others too.

Let that be true in me. If there’s any bitterness or anger hiding in my heart, please remove it. Teach me how to show grace, even when it’s hard. I want to reflect Your mercy in how I treat others.

Being Led by the Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit, I need You. Guide me today. Lead me in the way that’s right. Change my heart so I become more like Jesus in how I think, speak, and live.

Thank You for this fresh start. Help me not to cling to old shame, but to fully embrace the new life You’ve given me.

Resting in Your Peace

And when I feel weak or overwhelmed, remind me that Your peace is always with me.

Making Things Right with Others

I also want to lift up the people that I’ve hurt. Whether I meant to or not. Please heal those relationships, Lord. Give me the humility to meaningfully say that “I’m sorry” and have the courage to make things right.

Surrendering My Day to You

Today, I’m giving You my whole heart again. Thank You for never giving up on me. May everything I say and do bring glory to Your name.

In Jesus’ name I pray,

Amen.

A Moment of Reflection

Take a few minutes today to sit quietly with the Lord. Confess what’s on your heart. Ask Him to renew your spirit. And know this: No matter what you’ve done, His grace is always greater.
